  1. Saplunara
Your first stop will be beautiful sandy beach Saplunara, on Island of Mljet. You’ll spend some time here swimming, sunbathing or snorkeling, approximately 45 minutes to an hour; and after that you’ll be on your way to National Park or Odysseus Cave, as per your preference! This will be the time to make a decision which way you would like to go because it’s hard to fit both of these stunning locations into one visit. Based on your preference you can choose either to visit National Park or Odysseus Cave, and our Skipper will be happy to provide you will all necessary info and advice.
  2. Mljet National Park

National Park Mljet is the oldest seaside park on the whole Mediterranean coast. Here you can enjoy the untouched nature and self-sustainable ecosystem. National Park earned its status in 1960. due to extensive biodiversity and interesting history. Flora and fauna of the park will take your breath away. You will have an opportunity to swim in Small and Big Lake! There’s one fun part where big lake ‘pushes’ you into the small lake through a channel or passage where water runs quickly! Local children always compete who can stay longer in this passage in between two lakes. It’s gorgeous to walk around the lakes as well, and there is an interesting tiny island of St. Mary situated in the Big Lake. There you can find an old church and Benedictine monastery from 12. century. You will have approximately 3 hours to explore National Park before you move on to the next unique location!

  1. Odysseus Cave

Story of Odysseus Cave dates 3000 years back when ancient hero Odyssey was returning back to Itaca from his adventurous travels. Somewhere near Mljet he got into a big storm and his boat hit the sharp rocks of ‘Ogiran’. He needed to swim to the nearest shore to save his life. In the middle of the wavy sea, right in front of him, big hole opened and he swam into it. That was the entrance to the cave where he finally found safety. However, nymph Calypso lived on this romantic island and she kept Odyssey there for seven years by seducing him and promising him immortality if he stayed. Odyssey only got released when Zeus ordered Calypso to do so. She obeyed the god’s orders, but once her lover was gone, Calypso died of sadness. This is how the legend ends, but fun facts about the cave go on. This specific cave became home to the Mediterranean monk seal – one of the most endangered mammal species in the world. Seems that nobody wants to leave the cave as its beauty is out of this world.

  1. Secret Beach Marčuleti

After visiting National Park or Odysseus Cave (depends which option you chose), you’ll be onto the next adventure! Beautiful bay of Marčuleti is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Marčuleti is special as it is completely secluded and very hard to reach by land. You will enjoy gorgeous colors of the sea and trees in the bay. After approximately an hour and a half, you’ll be on your way back to Dubrovnik with additional stop for swimming or sunbathing. Discovering gorgeous Mljet and then Adriatic coast from the seaside will definitely stick with you for a long time. This is an adventure filled with fun and beautiful views that you most certainly deserve on your vacation.
